North West Engine Services Ltd – Terms & Conditions for New & Reconditioned Engines Supply or Fitting Services
We strongly encourage all customers to read these Terms & Conditions carefully before purchasing any engine, gearbox or product services from North West Engine Services Ltd. By placing an order with us, you are entering into a legally binding agreement and accept all terms stated below.
1. Scope of Agreement
This Warranty covers the internal mechanical components of the Product, including but not limited to:
- Pistons, crankshaft, camshaft, timing gears, oil pump, valves (for engines)
- Shafts, gears, bearings, and synchros (for gearboxes)
The Warranty covers parts only unless otherwise agreed in writing. Labor is not included unless specified.
2. Amendments
No alterations or modifications to these Terms & Conditions will be valid unless confirmed in writing and signed by an authorized company representative.
3. Parts Replacement & Additional Charges
We reserve the right to replace any part(s) we determine to be unfit during the reconditioning process without prior notice to avoid further engine complications. Any such replacements will incur additional charges.
4. Cancellations
If you cancel your service after work has commenced, you will be liable for costs associated with the work carried out up to the cancellation point.
5. Pricing
All quotes provided are estimates for supply and fitting only.
Quotes do not include costs for additional parts required during the service.
Prices may change at any time without prior notice.
6. Completion Timeline
While we make every effort to meet quoted timelines, we are not liable for delays caused by factors beyond our control.
7. Customer Property
Customers are responsible for removing all personal belongings from the vehicle. We do not accept liability for loss or damage to any items left inside the vehicle.
8. Warranty Coverage
New Engines/Gearboxes: 12 months or 12,000 miles (whichever occurs first).
- Reconditioned Engines/Gearboxes: 6 months or 6,000 miles (whichever occurs first).
- The warranty period begins from the date of delivery or installation, whichever is earlier.
8.1 Warranty Conditions
The warranty is non-transferable and valid only for the original purchaser.
It covers only the engine or parts supplied by us.
Labour costs for removal or refitting are not covered under this warranty.
Customers must return the vehicle to us (or the original installing garage) within 1,000 miles of engine installation for an inspection and oil/filter change. Failure to do so will void the warranty.
For all NEW Euro 6 Engines, proof of a professionally cleaned and tested DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) is required. Failure to provide this will void the warranty.
Customers must provide a video showing the vehicle’s current mileage, registration number, and chassis number when making a warranty claim.
8.2 Warranty Conditions
When fitting a new or reconditioned engine, it’s critical to replace certain parts to ensure reliability, prevent damage, and maintain warranty coverage. Here’s a list of essential new parts that must be replaced when fitting a new or reconditioned engine:
Oil Filter, Air Filter, Fuel Filter, Engine Oil, Coolant/Antifreeze, Water pump, Thermostat, Spark plugs/Glow Plugs, PCV Valve/Breather system, Turbo Charger & Feed/return pipes & Injectors

Invoices showing vehicle reg number
DPF Clean & Certificate (for Euro 6 engines)
Injectors Test Certificate
9. Warranty Exclusions
The warranty becomes void if:
- – The original invoice does not include the vehicle’s make, model, registration number, and mileage.
- – The vehicle is used for racing, towing outside manufacturer specifications, hire, lease, or competition.
- Damage due to incorrect installation, misuse, neglect, or accident.
- Failures due to overheating, lack of lubrication, or oil starvation.
- External components, including but not limited to:
- Turbochargers, injectors, sensors, manifolds, hoses, wiring, gaskets, seals, oil coolers
- – Proof of purchase for new parts (used with our reconditioned engine) is not provided.
- – The engine is tampered with or inspected by anyone other than North West Engine Services Ltd.
- – The vehicle is driven more than 12,000 miles in one year.
- – The vehicle has been damaged due to misuse, neglect, incorrect fuel/oil, wear and tear, or an accident.
- – Ancillaries not supplied by us fail and cause engine damage.
- – Heat tabs fitted to engines are tampered with or indicate overheating.
- – The customer supplies their own parts – in such cases, warranty is waived.
Warranty Voidance
The Warranty is void if:
- The Product has been tampered with, stripped, or dismantled before a claim is made.
- The installation was not carried out by a professional mechanic.
- Any terms outlined in this Warranty are not adhered to.
10. Delivery & Storage
Delivery/collection charges must be paid in full before transport is arranged.
Customers failing to collect their vehicle within the agreed time may incur storage charges.
11. Surcharge Policy
A surcharge is added to purchases of engines, gearboxes, turbos, and injectors. This is refunded when the old units are returned and meet the conditions below:
11.1 Return Conditions
- – Must be returned within 30 days of the invoice date.
- – Units must be like-for-like, complete, and in serviceable condition (no physical damage to main parts).
- – Fuel pumps must be drained and securely packaged.
- – Customers are liable for any courier fines due to leaking parcels (up to £250).
- – Collections are UK mainland only. Remote and overseas customers must arrange their own return shipping.
12. Return Policy
A 7-day return policy applies to all unused and unopened products in original packaging.
We are not responsible for return postage costs.
After 7 days, or for custom-made orders (most engines/gearboxes), returns may be denied or partially refunded at management’s discretion.
A restocking fee of [e.g., 15%] may apply.
- No refunds will be issued for items damaged due to incorrect installation or use.
13. General Notices
Service cancellation fees may apply at any stage.
Prices are subject to change without notice.

- Making a Claim
All claims must be made in writing and include:
- Proof of purchase.
- Installation report and service record.
- Diagnostic report from a qualified garage.
- Photographic or video evidence of the failure.
The Seller reserves the right to:
- Inspect the Product or require it to be returned for inspection.
- Request an independent assessment before honoring a claim.
- Offer a repair, replacement, or partial refund at their discretion.
No claim will be accepted unless the above procedure is strictly followed.
Limitations of Liability This Warranty is limited to the value of the Product sold and does not cover any consequential or indirect losses, including:
- Loss of earnings
- Vehicle recovery or transportation
- Hire car costs
- Downtime or inconvenience
- The Seller is not responsible for damage caused during transit unless delivery is arranged directly by the Seller.
Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the United Kingdom, and any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of Preston County Court.
